Expansion of the Alon Tabor Power Plant – Enhancing Energy Capabilities
Ludan Engineering Israel was selected to provide detailed design and regulatory approval management for the expansion of the MRC Alon Tabor power plant, integrating advanced engineering solutions to enhance the plant’s energy capacity.
The project involves a 230MW capacity increase through the installation of four gas turbine units in an open cycle configuration. The design was executed for Energy Services LLC (part of the Mitsubishi Power Group), which was chosen as the EPC contractor for the project.
The expanded power plant includes:

✅ Thousands of kilometers of underground duct banks and conduits
Project Scope:
✅ Multidisciplinary Detailed Design – Covering process design, piping, civil engineering, roads & traffic, electrical, and control systems.
✅ Permitting & Regulatory Approvals – Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
✅ Overall Design Coordination – Integrating all engineering disciplines in this complex project.
✅ Fuel Gas & Liquid Fuel System Design – Ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply.
✅ Site Development & Road Planning – Including auxiliary infrastructure and retaining walls.
✅ Sheltered Structure Design – Enhancing operational continuity and safety.
