Second Cogeneration Power Plant at Paz Ashdod Refinery

Ludan Engineering Israel led the design, management, and construction of the second cogeneration power plant at Paz Ashdod Refinery, providing 64 MW of electricity and 90 tons of steam per hour, using innovative technologies to enhance the plant’s energy efficiency.

The project includes a 64 MW Rolls-Royce WLE gas turbine, combined with a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) that produces 90 tons of steam per hour, along with a superheater and FAF Chilling System to ensure optimal performance under varying environmental conditions. This integration enables maximum energy utilization, improves operational efficiency, and reduces pollutant emissions.

Project Scope:

Engineering Design and Project Management (EPCM)Engineering, procurement, construction, and full management of the power plant.
Installation of Rolls-Royce WLE Gas Turbine – To improve plant performance and optimize energy production.
Design and Installation of HRSG – Supplying steam for refinery production processes.
Integration of FAF Chilling System – To optimize station performance under varying environmental conditions.

The establishment of the second cogeneration power plant represents a key advancement in enhancing the energy capabilities of Paz Ashdod, increasing output, reducing operational costs, and improving the energy stability of the facility.
