Expansion of the Omer Power Plant – Enhancing Electricity Generation Capacity
KH Engineering led the design and expansion of the Omer Power Plant, delivering advanced engineering solutions to increase power generation capacity.
Originally, the Omer Power Plant consisted of three gas turbines for electricity generation. To meet the growing demand for power, an additional 38MW gas turbine was installed, along with an expansion of the 66kV substation, integration of key electrical connections, and an upgrade of the Power Management System (PMS) for both the plant and its various consumer sites.
Unlike the existing units, which were housed in an enclosed structure, the new unit was installed in an open desert environment, requiring special adaptations to withstand environmental conditions.
Project Scope:
✅ Basic & Detailed Engineering – Integrating new systems into the existing infrastructure.
✅ Procurement & Supplier Management – Delivering critical equipment for the expansion.
✅ Site Assistance – Engineering support during construction and system implementation.
✅ Plant Commissioning & Turn-Over – Ensuring optimal integration of new systems with existing facilities.
Through this expansion and PMS upgrade, the project achieved higher power generation capacity, improved operational efficiency, and full adaptation to the region’s growing energy demands.
